How to Get Started With Claude Cowork

Claude Cowork can complete multi-step assignments and create finished workplace files. Before delegating important work, however, you need to understand how to control access to it and review what it produces.

In this Quick Hit, you’ll install Claude Desktop, open Cowork, connect a dedicated working folder, and create a project update from self-contained fictional notes. You’ll also learn how to set task boundaries, monitor Cowork’s activity, and verify the finished document.

What you'll learn:

  • Install and open the latest version of Claude Desktop
  • Access Cowork and connect a limited working folder
  • Write a task with a clear outcome, context, and boundaries
  • Monitor Cowork while it creates a document
  • Verify the finished deliverable against its source information
You do not need coding or terminal experience. You will need a paid Claude plan that includes Cowork and permission to install Claude Desktop on your computer.
